RETURN / IRIS

Get your income tax return filed and your name on the ATL

We prepare and file your annual income tax return with the FBR through IRIS, file the wealth statement that must go with it, and confirm your name appears on the Active Taxpayers List.

Fee quoted before work starts. Two to three working days once your documents are complete.

Who this is for

Salaried employees, freelancers, shopkeepers, contractors, doctors, property owners and overseas Pakistanis who need a return filed for any tax year.

A non-filer pays roughly double withholding tax on bank transactions, property, vehicles and dividends, and cannot buy property above the prescribed limit.

Questions about income tax return filing

What is the deadline for filing an income tax return in Pakistan?
The usual deadline is 30 September for the tax year that ended on the previous 30 June. The FBR sometimes extends it, but filing late means a penalty and your name drops off the Active Taxpayers List.
Do I have to file a return if my employer already deducts tax from my salary?
Yes. Tax deducted by your employer is not a return. If your annual salary crosses the taxable threshold you are required to file, and without filing you stay a non-filer for every other transaction.
Can I file a return for previous years that I missed?
Yes, previous years can still be filed, though a late filing surcharge applies for each year. We commonly file two or three back years together so a client becomes a filer in one go.
How do I check whether I am on the Active Taxpayers List?
Send your CNIC number without dashes by SMS to 9966, or check the ATL on the FBR website. The list is updated every Monday, so a return filed on Tuesday shows up the following week.
Do overseas Pakistanis need to file a return?
An overseas Pakistani who holds property, a bank account, or a vehicle in Pakistan generally needs to file, and filing keeps them on the ATL so they pay the filer rate on property transactions.
