The process
Search and class selection
We search the register for conflicting marks and choose the classes that actually protect what you sell.
Filing and examination
We file the application, receive the filing receipt, and respond to any examination report or objection raised by the registry.
Publication and certificate
The mark is published in the Trade Marks Journal for opposition, and once that period passes the registration certificate is issued.

Questions about trademark registration
- How long does trademark registration take in Pakistan?
- Filing is quick but the full process usually takes twelve to eighteen months through examination, journal publication and the opposition period. Your rights run from the filing date, not the certificate date.
- What is a trademark class and how many do I need?
- Classes group goods and services, and your protection only covers the classes you file in. A restaurant selling packaged sauces, for example, needs both the restaurant service class and the food goods class.
- Can I register a logo and a name together?
- You can file the logo with the name as a single device mark, but filing the word mark separately gives stronger protection because it stops others using your name in any style.
